Txe'lan was starting to feel more comfortable in Katelyn's presence than he previously thought he would be. The original pact made between the two of them was to simply teach each other their languages so that they might feel more comfortable in the presence of each others' species so there wouldn't be as much culture shock, but now it was starting to feel like more of a relationship building since there was so much emotion displayed between the two of them. Personal secrets had been revealed, emotion had been shown on both sides at no shortage of times, and now Txe'lan felt that he'd finally found a way out of his personal problems within his own clan. It wasn't fair for Katelyn to be stranded on a strange world with only a few handfuls of her own kind to keep her company, and yet it came down to a member of the Na'vi to relate to her feelings. There was surely something more than just a student-teacher relationship going on here...
Listening to Katelyn's explanation of the 'Q' letter, Txe'lan nodded in approval. He had the same feelings about it, yet he noticed in her examples that it was more often than not involved with another letter he hadn't quite learned yet. It seemed to be just one letter in particular that Q was paired with, and Txe'lan found that kind of... quaint. English was becoming much easier to understand, but there were always stipulations that Txe'lan had to think about when forming words. He had to be careful or otherwise he'd be making errors that Katelyn probably wouldn't be able to understand.
Now that he thought about it, showing Katelyn the color of his blood probably wasn't the best thing that he could've done, but to make a point it was the only thing he could've thought to do. Maybe something could come up in due time that Txe'lan could draw an appropriate comparison to, but for now he knew that anything that could provoke violence or draw blood was not the right thing to do. He would just have to keep that in mind.
"And the next letters?"
Txe'lan wanted to learn all the letters tonight; the both of them had been at the Tree of Souls for quite a while, and there wasn't going to be much left of the night if all they did was sit and explain to each other their personal secrets and such. Txe'lan, judging from his practice book, could feel that they were so close to being done with the letters, and that was what he wanted. Once he knew the letters, he could form words to speak with. It would still take a little time for Txe'lan to get the feel for how the letters and words melded together, but time would take care of that. Soon he would be able to teach Katelyn how to speak the language of the Na'vi.

It was kind of funny how this little meeting was going on with one another. Meetings like these were to have been meant to be a mere studies for the both for herself and Txe'lan to understand one another's languages to bring more of a milder encounter if any between the two races were to meet, which would most likely be with those who are that of the Avatar program, seeing that they were more of the lines of Na'vi than some short and hot-tempered human such as herself.
But it was getting sort of strange, they were beginning to tell things to one another, secret and personal things. That was enought to make somebody very curious indeed, especially to Katelyn herself since she had been the one who was the alien to this planet talking to someone that was of a different origen as well species what was begging to learn hewr language... It was strange how some things worked like that, even if you can't understand what the heck is going with the two most of the time they were here.
Their main topic was to be teaching this Na'vi how to speak her language and learn how to write the letters that she was still teaching him in order to write letters to one another just incase if things were to get just a little bleak for them too much to meet up with one another at times. Pfft, like that was going to be happening soon. She was a soldier for God's sake, and one heck of a good mechanic as well which made her perfect for the suit system when wandering in places such as Pandora itself, since it was the only place she could be wandering around on.
Looking back at Txe'lan once more when he began to ask for some more letters, she began to realize that they were on their last six, what a surprise! They had been doing so well that she forgot to look on how many they had left with them, and now all they had to do was finish up their final letters. Writing them down like before, and now began to form a colum of words for Txe'lan to look at for himself to know all the different words and how they had been put together even if they were not put together with all the words, and gave it to Txe'lan.
"OK, Now... What we have is; U, V, W, X, Y, and Z... And now it's done!"
She said as she put her hands on her lap after she had passed over the last bit of paper over to Txe'lan with a bit of a smile, though it didn't last for very long on her face, for now the harder things had to come into play for the both of them, and that was to make words into sentences and sentences to paragraphs. Sighing a little bit, she picked up her scrap paper filled with little drawings that she had been doing before and began to fix them up a little more while Texalina had been trying to study his words, at least it could kill some time for her now while he worked.

Txe'lan had been so intrigued by Katelyn trying to explain to him the sounds and properties of the letters that his focus had become trying to learn all the letters the best he could. And he seemed to be doing just that, learning the sounds of all the letters so he could form words that Katelyn could understand. More importantly, Txe'lan hadn't been speaking in his own tongue for ever since he shared his personal secrets with Katelyn, and if that was a sure sign of progress for Txe'lan it meant he was getting the hang of it rather quickly. Now that all the letters were learned, Txe'lan had free control over which letters he would choose to form words with, and pretty soon he'd be speaking Katelyn's language as fluently as she was speaking it, though he wouldn't be using as many of the refined and specific words that came to her profession or what have you coming from her place among the Sky People.
"With all the letter sounds, I can make words easy."
He took the paper from Katelyn, comparing the rest of the letters on the paper to his first booklet from when he wrote all the practice letters. There was U, V, W, X, Y, and Z, and various words that was made up of the new letters as well as the ones he learned previously. Txe'lan noticed that there were so many different words that could be formed using just these 26 letters, yet there seemed to be no limit as to the amount of letters that could be used to make those words. Some were small, and some were quite large, many used multiples of a single letter, and there was no shortage of words to learn. He would learn them in due time, since he was still short on basic sentence structure. What he knew of speaking English came from the memories he had access to; he didn't know everything, just how to speak it in a way that others could understand.
Then the night sky started to brighten up, Txe'lan noticing that the night was not going to last much longer. At least they accomplished what Txe'lan wanted tonight, to learn all the letters and use them to form words. He would have to bring Katelyn back to their designated pick-up/drop-off point on Vrrtep'Taw soon, and that meant they would have to get ready to leave the Tree of Souls.
"We must go soon." Txe'lan said to Katelyn, picking up his booklet, his papers, and his pencil, stuffing them into his satchel for the intent to use them as notes and study material for when he was away from Katelyn. The better he could understand them, the easier it would be for him to speak the language of the Sky People. Once he could speak to Katelyn in easy-to-understand English, she would soon be able to understand how Txe'lan was going to teach her to speak the Na'vi language.

It was so good for Katelyn to see that Txe'lan had been focussing intently on trying to understand one of the most common languages known to her race, knowing that he had wanted to understand the english language for his own. Personally, Katelyn never did fully like trying to understand other languages very much, only because it was so hard on the brain to try and understand, but it seemed that Txe'lan was far more eager to learn about this sorts of stuff about her kind, proboably because of the stories that he had heard about her kind, and whatever evidence that was left of her kind prbably brought much more eagerness to this Na'vi, as well the others who were interested. But she was only going to be teaching this Na'vi alone... Right?
But then Txe'lan began to pack in all of his stuff, saying that they would have to get going soon, and looked back out the open view to see what he was talking about. The night sky seemed to have been getting brighter now, where the nights really that short on this planet? Then again, this was just a moon, meaning times would be quickened probably compared to Earth times. Even so, she began to pack up all of her supplies meaning her paper and pencils she had laying on the gass and roots of the tree which were stuffed in her bag and zpped up as it was swung onto her back once more. She looked back up at Txe'lan once more when she was in full height and ready to go again, waiting for Txe'lan to get ready for the two to go to his Banshee.
"Well, thanks for bringing me here. It was really nice to come."
She said as she let her hand slide on one of the glowing tendrils to the Tree of Souls, but then looking back at Txe'lan once more, more specifically the eyepatch that covered up his left eye. She indeed remembered what he had said about it, and continued to feel pity for him, though she thought up of something that could lift up his soul about it.
Umm, Txe'lan, you don't need to say that your missing eye is a curse from Eywa.... It could be just Eywa keeping you at bay until the right female comes to see you for who you truly are.
She told him the best way she could with barely a smile creeping up on the edges, and began to walk towards the Banshee once more, with Txe'lan once more. Even if her words weren't very much, at least she could try to put a glimmer of hope into his heart.

Of all the Sky People Txe'lan could've chosen to meet, Katelyn was probably the most interesting one that could hope to brighten up his life and give him hope for the future. They didn't choose to come back to Pandora after the events that transpired all those decades ago, yet they came back out of sheer accident. Maybe Eywa intended for that accident to happen, and it would mean a strange twist of fate for Txe'lan. Now he met a Sky Person he could officially call his 'friend', perhaps more so than some of the Na'vi back at Hometree. Even though they were his family, Txe'lan was more or less estranged from them because of his visual impairment. Most would've resigned themselves to death because of such problems that arose from physical handicaps, but Txe'lan endured, walking a different path than most of the Na'vi. Maybe that was his lot in life, to stray from the pre-determined path...
As Txe'lan walked with Katelyn over to Vrrtep'taw, having a grub in hand so that his Ikran would be sated for another trip carrying two, he began to wonder how Katelyn was going to cope with life on Pandora. This was not her home, yet she was forced to stay. What was life like back on her home world? Or the world she was destined to live on that was not Pandora? It must've been very different from the world Txe'lan knew, given that she as a person was not very well suited to this environment. Perhaps elsewhere she could call home, but here she would have to cope with being on a strange world with few people she knew on a personal level. With the Na'vi being untrustworthy of the Sky People, they must've truly felt alone here. It was hard for Txe'lan to imagine being alone on that level.
Then Katelyn said something that made him think for a while. Was Eywa really keeping him at bay for the right mate? It seemed like a cruel fate for Txe'lan, but perhaps what Katelyn said was making more sense than he first realized. Maybe there was someone like him on Pandora that was meant to be with him, but as far as he knew there was no one among the Omaticaya clan that was compatible with him. It was just a mind-boggling thing to wrap one's head around, having known solitude for so long because of a simple thing like a visual impairment. Katelyn was really more than she appeared to be; there was so much wisdom inside that shell of a soldier.
"Irayo, Katelyn. Nga lu siltsan 'eylan, ni'lu to nga omum."
With that, Txe'lan tossed the grub to Vrrtep'taw, watching him catch it in his mouth and munch on it happily. Once he calmed down after the treat, Txe'lan hopped on his Ikran's saddle and beckoned Katelyn to hop on after him. They needed to be heading back; he was sure Katelyn had things to do, and Txe'lan was expected to have things ready for the day in case someone needed healing or if there was a hunt that needed to be done. Even if he was not a super significant figure in the clan, he was more than capable of making sure things ran smoothly; it was one of his many duties, when he was needed.
"Ready to go?"
(Translation: "Thank you, Katelyn. You are a good friend, more than you know.")

Katelyn was indeed happy for meeting up with Txe'lan on this planet. Heck, she would be happy if any alien species had made a good relation with her. It was only because most species that met with one another usually just ignored one another or tried killing each other, it wasn't like that in this little meeting. This actually had a form of meaning to this meeting with no hate or disgrace for one another what so ever, it was just a typical companionship that would be typically known to be found in other species that worked and lived with one another. That was always a good sign to be seen for anyone in a situation such as hers being played on, especially when you didn't have too much of a choice in the first place.
The remaining people that had survived the deadly crash were stuck on this moon, and she knew that straight on. They did not have the proper equipment for such repairs that needed to be done onto the Olympus, and like their was anything left of it to save. The last glimmer of hope people here could ever have were split into two measely options, and they were not the most comfortable ones depending on who you were as one was praying to God that a ship would fly over and save them from this Jungle of a moon, or become one with these Na'vi creatures. To Katelyn, it seemed that the second option sounded pretty good in her opinion, seeing as she lost all her hope of ever getting off this rock, and she was making a pretty good friendship with one of the Natives here. And to make things even more closer, they had been sharing things with one another which helped bring back a glimmer of hope that the two had practically lost in their lives.
Even so, she was still stuck her with not very many to talk to, but at least Txe'lan was willing to listen to her when she wanted someone to talk to. Especially since it seemed that her words had touched Txe'lan in such a matter that he probably saw her more than what she thought she was herself, it was really unusual when you thought about stuff like that. None the less, she was getting a little tired, and she needed some rest before she went to work for anything that she might be thrown to do as a job. Quickly she gave off a nod to the Na'vi's question, and got onto his Banshee smoothly to make sure that he wouldn't bite her out of shock of being accidentally hurt. With her finding a more comfortable spot for herself, she then slid her narrow fingers along the side of Txe'lan once more until she had a good grip so that it would be harder for her to fall off. For she didn't fall on his Banshee before, and that wasn't going to happen to her now.

This night seemed very much shorter than any night Txe'lan had ever stayed up through. Though he'd done this many times before, the night always seemed to be longer by a few extra hours, but this one was notably short. Was it just because he was engaged in learning something knew and very interesting with one of the Sky People? Perhaps that was the main reason, but there was still something else amiss, something he just couldn't quite lay any of his fingers on. It had something to do with Katelyn and the way she was teaching Txe'lan to speak her language, like it was meant to happen but it was so unexpected at the same time. This was just something Txe'lan had never experienced before...
As Katelyn had mounted Vrrtep'taw after he did, his Ikran reared his head a bit to readjust to the extra weight (and partially to account for his disdain for carrying an extra passenger that wasn't a Na'vi), Txe'lan patted his head a couple times to reassure him that it was okay. Once Katelyn was ready and situated, Txe'lan tugged on Vrrtep'taw's neural appendages once to spur him into flight mode, feeling him lift off of the ground and flap to an acceptable altitude. They were now on their way back to Katelyn's drop-off place, marked with the arrow and the reed flute he left there for her to call him with.
The jungles of Pandora were a very different sight during the night and what the Sky People once called 'dawn'. The bioluminescence really came out during the night and in low-light conditions, but once light started to creep over the canopy the lights and creatures of the night began to fade back to their original colors during the day. As Vrrtep'taw soared over the canopy away from the Tree of Souls, this was evident and always worth looking at. It wouldn't be long before Katelyn was back at her dwelling with the rest of the Sky People, and once she was she would finally be able to continue with her daily duties.
Once Txe'lan spied the landing spot, he brought Vrrtep'taw down slowly, looping back around once so he'd be able to land in the designated fashion, his Ikran making a delicate landing and catching a grub from Txe'lan for the excellent work during the flight.
"Here we are, Katelyn. What time tomorrow?"
Txe'lan just wanted to know what time he should show up tomorrow in case she wasn't going to be able to make it at the usual time. He didn't want to come around the dwelling of the Sky People and not find Katelyn where she was supposed to be, if it was going to waste him a trip...
