When Katelyn had heard what Txe'lan had to say about his similarities to the E letter, a pang of utter guilt had hit her in the gut like that of a bullet penetrating the skin of the body, it just was almost unbearable to have in you. She didn't mean in the least to try and insult the Na'vi in such a matter, but then again, she knew almost nothing of him at all really, and that was a little bit unusual in such a way if you thought about it. They were working together for only a day yes, but it was just a little bit unusual that they did not exactly know much about one another besides their names, their species, as well that they were both interested in both of their cultures and the ways that they had lived. Either than that however, not much was left to be known.
"I... I'm really sorry Txe... I just.... I just didn't expect you to be like that..."
it was the truth she spoke as well as she put the pencil that was in her hands into the little space that was between her ear and her skull as she twirled her thumbs out of embarrassment. She just expected Txe'lan to be some who was big in the clan, he looked like it as well just by looking at him. He was quite lean and very athletic-looking when it came to the external view of him, especially since you could see most muscles around his body. He had very nice, if not, tidy clothing on with him, even if it was just some animal skin cloth and some wood fragments like branches or what not, they were still put well together on him at the very least. Then there were the traits of a hunter on him, and that was usually something that she heard was quite big in some tribes here and there, and with that missing eye of his... That usually showed both maturity as well fearlessness, usually that alone could real in some women to a guy's side.
Though her thoughts had broke off as her mind had went back into reality once more as she heard the words of the Na'vi she was working with, asking her to teach him a little bit more about the language, and her mind began to set back into the ways of studying once more.
"Right, right. Sorry about that."
She muttered out as she got out some more paper and began to write out some more letters out for Txe'lan to be able to look at for more studies on the human language, and this would allow her to get her mind off of the little feeling of guilt that had just hit her as well, at least that was what she hoped that it could relieve it while she worked on with this information. But still, she just had the feeling that this would just not got away just by hoping it would disappear, so maybe she could try to give more of an explanation to the words for Txe'lan while she still could.
"You know... It's not just 'E' that works alone a good number of times... There are other letters that like to be silent as well. Some of the bigger words like to be silent sometimes even, like 'A' and 'I' for example. Sure they have some big roles by themselves, but sometimes they like helping out with the other letters in secret."
It was a pretty good way of trying to get someone's hopes up, by telling them that even important people have secret acts, it was something like a mini free-time job while they took a break from their usual back-breaking job while they got to know and do constantly, it must have been horrible to do that. As for herself, all there was to be repeated was cleaning your corridors and following commands, but beside from that, their was nothing really do have to do repeatedly except for the Guard duties, and in her ranks being a Private Soldier Combat-Suit Driver and a Mechanic, that roll was always overlooked for her. Too bad for those suckers that didn't know how to handle mechanical art with respectable care.

Txe'lan didn't see his disability as a badge of honor; in fact, he thought of it as a curse. It was his only black mark against his skills as a healer and a hunter, a sign that he was a disabled Na'vi. Disabilities were often frowned upon, and the only one that ever looked out for Txe'lan because of it was the Tsahik; were it not for her, he would've been an outcast. It was troubling, and it was the one thing that often forfeited him from being able to mate with anyone else in the clan. Even though the males could choose who they wanted to mate with, whomever he chose was often prevented by Eywa herself from allowing the mating to commence. He often thought Eywa had forsaken him, but he was still a respected member of the Omaticaya because of the services he provided. It was difficult to find a healer on Pandora with Txe'lan's level of skill.
"It's okay Katelyn. 'E' is like me since... kehe tutee ayna munxta hu oe, fpi oe-ya kawng nari; Eywa kxani ."
That was certainly an earful to translate, but it was the only way Txe'lan knew how to talk about his situation among the Omaticaya to someone that would understand. Katelyn seemed to have an open mind towards his kind, but the opposite certainly wasn't true. Time left scars that would rarely heal, and the Na'vi weren't too warm towards the Sky People returning to Pandora. Txe'lan might have been an oddity, but only time would tell. He was quickly becoming fond of Katelyn because she would extend the opportunity to him for learning English, and hopefully Katelyn would come to understand the Na'vi and have a sort of mutual relationship.
Back on the topic of learning, Txe'lan took into account that 'E' wasn't the only letter to perform such functions. 'A' and 'I' seemed to do the same thing, so that was a little easier to understand. He also assumed other letters performed this function as well, and when he learned them it would make it so much easier to find out which letters went where when forming words. A quick nod of approval got him back on track.
"And other letters?"
((Translation: "No female likes to mate with me, for the sake of my bad eye. Eywa forbid."))

Katelyn had began to tilt her head a little off to the side with slight confusion swirling in her head for a brief moment, the first reason was for the complete sentence of Na'vi he had used by Txe'lan, which made it a little difficult to filter through her head head for a brief moment, but then that was when the second reason on why her head still stayed tilted came into play. He couldn't be with a girl because they were scared of his bad eye? That it was a curse? That was pure bull in her opinion. Usually women from her species would be all over some guy like him, especially if they had some sort of glorious war wounds like that, even if it was from fighting or not.
"Then we're not that different."
She mumbled under her breath as she rubbed her right side a little bit. When it was the woman that had the war wounds, it was always the opposite attraction then. No guy would want to do a girl that had nasty gashes on her body, even if it was mostly on her back-side. But it was her mistake for not being careful in the least on her first few days, and now she was paying the price for her own little curse. For all she knew, she could be single for her entire life, but it didn't mean that she had to have a man in her life. No, she was stronger and more independent than that, she could last on her own.
She snapped back into reality once more though, the voice of Txe'lan asking for other words while she was thinking of her own little misfortune, that was being a little selfish of herself. Getting her head back straight once more she looked back at Txe'lan for a brief moment and then back down at the paper, her new words ready for him to look over.
"Well, there are a good amount of letters in the alphabet that make silent letters, even letters like 'A' and 'E' can work together in one work to make words like 'Heavy', or even 'Death'. But I want you to learn the Alphabet a bit more so you don't get confuzed with other letters I use."
She clearified with the Na'vi to allow him to understand on how she was going to be teaching him her language while she wrote down some example words dealing with the five letters before and the five letters she was about to give him now. It was because the letters she was about to use were words that would fit properly with other words with what she used before. Plus it was a chane to allow Txe'lan to understand that the words could be spread out to one another to make other words with different letters.
"Alright, the words I have here are the letters 'F', 'G', 'H', 'I', and 'J'. Then here are some words such as 'Faith' and 'Jab' that work out with these words."
She handed over the papers over to Txe'lan so he could have a better look at them for himself despite the Na'vi already having his pratice book in hand for him to look at, but it was just for the words that she had written out for him to examine at for a little bit. She knew of course that she had to take her time when learning this stuff of course, but already they were around two-fifths done the alphabet as it was, and the alphabet was a bit easy to understand of course, but the words that were mixed up with the letters, now that was a bit of a test to try and accomplish.

Txe'lan was kind of surprised to hear that Katelyn wasn't totally estranged from his point of view. Mating troubles were always difficult for those that had obvious disabilities, but for her to say that she was in the same boat as him was truly a surprise. What disabilities did she have that prevented her with being with a member of the opposite sex to her own species? He knew Sky People could be unique and different, but when he learned that their mating practices were based on physical attraction, what good was that? To Txe'lan, it didn't particularly make sense. He was pretty sure the two would mate depending on what they could do for each other (which was his primary fault point), but physical attraction wasn't necessarily the first thing on her mind.
"What stops you from mating?" Txe'lan was genuinely piqued by that notion; a strong girl like her would definitely have something to provide to her mate, so Txe'lan was curious.
Then Katelyn went on to explain how 'A' and 'E' went on to work together to make more complex words. That he could understand, giving a nod of approval to show that he was understanding how they worked. It was getting easier by the second for Txe'lan to understand the English language, but all he needed to do was understand the rest of the letters and their sounds so he would be able to make words he and she could interpret as well as read the rest of her writings.
The next few letters were F G H I and J, making words like 'faith' and 'jab'. When he looked at the letters Katelyn had written, Txe'lan looked at his own book and compared the two. Sure enough, they were understandable, and the sounds just seemed to stick together with their respective words. As Txe'lan linked to the Tree of Souls again, he found words used by the last Toruk Makto that involved those letters and sounds, such as 'ahead' and 'behind'. Oh yeah, he was definitely getting the hang of this.
"These letters are important too... doing jobs they are good at. Right?"
The more Txe'lan thought about each individual letter, he started to compare the alphabet to individual members of the Na'vi in his clan. Learning by comparison was always a tactic Txe'lan employed when learning something new, and it didn't seem to be letting him down in this case. Progress was starting to be made by leaps and bounds...

Katelyn gave off a little sigh when Txe'lan had asked her for her own reason not being able to mate with others, she had a feeling that he would be able to pick up her words with his specialized ears, but like it mattered very much to her. Txe'lan could be trusted, she knew that very well indeed, and he could trust her as well just by bringing her to this incredible little study place, and probably one the most sacred things to the Na'vi if Txe'lan was able to look into the memories of his ancestors. Ya, she was able to trust him at least that much tell Txe'lan the truth, it wasn't like it was going to kill her or anything.
So she took off anything that was on her lap, and just brought herself up to her full height once more. With that, she brought her hands up to the bottom of her shirt, and began to roll it up a bit until it got up to the bottom of her bra. Now Katelyn of course had to be in fit shape in order to do her duties, so her body was nicely sculpted as any fit female would be, with the ab muscles just lightly bulging from the skin that was over it which made it almost attractive, it would have been perfect if it weren't for the scar that scraped along her side. Then she turned her back more towards Txe'lan to show her back, and it was a complete mess with the scars just shredding it here and there as if a wild cat had gone nuts in a attack on her.
"I uhh... I screwed up."
That was all she said in the beginning as she let one hand let go of her shirt and lightly stroked one of her scars once, and gave off yet another sigh while she looked at what she could of the scars on her back, and looked back at Txe'lan once more.
"It was my first mission. I'm what you call a soldier, or a warrior.. take your pick. I got careless in it, and I just got ripped to shreds, I was lucky enough to be rescued by one of my men after that. But men just don't like girls with scars, it just wrecks their looks, doesn't make them pretty enough... Heck, guys don't like me because I know more about machines than most of the human guys on this planet... Guess that leaves my chances of being with someone here to zero really..."
Katelyn just turned her head away from Txe'lan as tears began to form from her eyes, and briefly took her mask off to wipe whatever tears were being made, an put on her mask once more to allow her to take a few good deep breaths of filtered oxygen instead of choking on Pandora's toxic air. She knew that soldiers where not meant to cry, but it just hurt her to know that some men were just so stubborn about things, and that just brought her to be an outcast compared to other normal women that guys liked. But this time wasn't meant for that, no, this time was meant to teach each other their different languages.
"Well, all letters are brought to usually do a lot of jobs, and are usually used a lot for many reasons, though some barely have a reason and create very little words... But those come later in the alphabet."
Her voice was a little lower than usual, it was mainly because she was trying to get the thoughts out of her head that she thought about herself before, but how can you forget who and what you truly are in life?

When Txe'lan heard Katelyn's explanation for why she couldn't be with a member of her own species, his heart practically sank to the bottom of his own personal ocean. Sky People were more superficial than he previously thought, and that's probably why the Na'vi hated them so much all those years ago. There was much more to Katelyn than any other Sky Person would care to see, but Txe'lan could see that. Sure, her scars were gruesome, but she survived the encounter that gave them to her; that should at least say something about who she was. Did it really take a being from another world to see beyond the surface? Or was that just a special gift reserved for the Na'vi? Either way, Txe'lan was in a unique situation here. Katelyn deserved much more than what she'd been given...
Then water began to fall from Katelyn's eyes, indicating that she was saddened. Txe'lan took notice of this; oh no, it was not escaping his one good eye. As soon as her mask was back on her face, Txe'lan dropped his oversized pencil and reached out to her, holding the back of her head gently with his four-fingered hand. He wanted her to look him square in the eye when he said the special phrase of the Na'vi reserved for open displays of emotion, to see their true selves. Even though Katelyn was one of the Sky People, she really wasn't that different from Txe'lan, and maybe that's what he'd been missing all this time.
"I see you, Katelyn. Even warriors become sad sometimes."
Txe'lan stroked her hair and skin a bit with his thumb, trying to comfort her in her time of distress. He then removed his hand, picking up his pencil once again to try and learn once Katelyn began explaining the functions of the letters. They all had important jobs, but sometimes they weren't all needed to form specific words. This was a good thing, Txe'lan was understanding this more and more. He wanted to move on to learn the rest of the letters. From what he could discern from his little practice book, there were still a lot more letters to learn.
"And the next letters?"

Before Katelyn had went to turn around to face Txe'lan once more and continue on with the studies of their own languages, she felt something lightly touch the back of her head and the corners of her face. She could tell that it was Txe'lan's hands just because she could feel the structure of the four-fingered hand the Na'vi have with them, and that it was very huge compared to that of her long but small hand. She knew that Txe'lan wasn't going to hurt her just by the feel of his hand on the back and sides of her skull, he could crush it if he decided to , but she knew that he was much more kinder than that. So she turned around once more to look back at the Na'vi again, looking straight into the yellow orb of the blue cat as he spoke out to her.
She had some understanding on what the words had meant, knowing that the words 'I see you' meant that they could see the person's very soul, and that got to Katelyn very quickly in the inside. No one besides her own mother had really known her for what she was, even if she did have multiple interests from drawing to fighting, but no buddy really did give the chance to see who she truly was. This Na'vi though... He was different compared to most men she met, being human or of different alien origin, he was able to see who she truly was, even if he did not understand everything about her just yet, at least he was actually giving off the effort to try and understand her. That alone caused her to slowly bring out a smile onto her face, to know someone actually gave some thought about her was enough to make her happy.
Even if this feeling right now felt great, they still had their studies to go on with, causing Txe'lan's had to slide off the back of her head, and making her sit down once more as she began writing down the next five little words, already they were going to be three-fifths done the alphabet as it was, but then again, the Alphabet was pretty easy to understand for anyone really, it was the words they made that was the issue really. But if they got this easy stuff over with, they would be just fine.
"Alright, the next ones are going to be the letters K, L, M, N, and O. Some words that could be made with these new ones including the ones from what we learned before are 'Like', 'No', and even 'Leg' for example."
She said in a much more calmer and happier voice than before as she wrote down the words and letters that she had spoke out, and gave the sheet of paper to Txe'lan so he could look at it for a bit, he also put on her own name onto the paper, sort or like a test to see if he was actually learning anything from their studies, even if her name had two letters that would be unknown to him, at least he could try it out.

Understanding people seemed to be one of Txe'lan's many talents. Where most Na'vi would be quick to judge a Sky Person simply for their culture shock value and foreign technology, Txe'lan approached them with a curious point of view; he was finding Katelyn to be a much more unique and interesting person with each passing moment. Not only was she willing to teach him their language and he would teach her the language of the Na'vi, but they seemed capable of forming relationships as well. This was something Txe'lan came to note about them; they had multiple points of view, and their emotions seemed to affect their state of mind. The Na'vi weren't very different, only they were expected to act in a manner that would honor their clan. Maybe the Sky People weren't as different from the Na'vi as Txe'lan first thought, but he could very well be wrong...
As Katelyn continued to read off the rest of the letters, Txe'lan's intellect was being challenged a bit by Katelyn handing him a paper that had the letters on them as well as a word that had two letters that he didn't know yet. He took a moment or two to examine them a little closer, using the K and the A as starting points. Their sounds reflected a word he'd been saying a lot of... that word being 'Katelyn'. She'd written out a word that Txe'lan was to piece together using sounds.
"This word... Katelyn... it's your name!"
Then it suddenly clicked. He didn't need to know all the letters to form a particular word, but a word was pieced together using individual letters. A wave of excitement started to jump around in his nerves, and his queue seemed to twitch a bit to show it; however, it being behind his back, Katelyn couldn't really see it. He really was starting to get the hang of this; all he needed was to learn how each letter sounded, then he could start writing words such as Katelyn's name. Pretty soon he'd be writing his own native words using the letters Katelyn was teaching him.
"Like, no, leg, Katelyn, ahead, behind, bed, hide... lots of words... they make sense, but names don't act like words, do they?"
Txe'lan was curious about names. They weren't your typical words, but they were words meant to distinguish someone, or something. He supposed this would be on a case-by-case basis. Names had to have a face that would match to them, but then again some names were words themselves. This was a concept Txe'lan couldn't yet grasp, but he supposed he would get the hang of it in due time. Learning a language overnight wasn't easily accomplished, and he doubted he'd do it in one night either.

Katelyn couldn't help but laugth a little bit when she saw the realization that had been struck on straight after his looks of focus and understanding when he had been trying to think about what the letters that had made her name were. She had been covering her mask's microphone to muffle the laugh she had made, as well the smile that was plastered on her face, but she just could not help herself in the least. It was just so hilarious to see the look that he made all because of a little word, again as she had thought before, she kept on remembering the ways of that a child would react to something facinating even if to an adult it's not very much to them, and this had gotten Katelyn a little nervous as well.
Even if she was nervous about it, she decided for the moment to just focues directly onto what they were actually doing at the time, and that was teaching one another their studies of the languages they were taught by one another, even if it was her that was teaching most of the stuff, and at least she was almost done the alphabet as it was, though the tougher thing was that he had to actually learn the language meaning that the words and letters had to be understood through his own language, and that would be the complication of the things. An example was the question that Txe'lan had asked her about the relation to names with words, and so began to focus on that small question for the time.
"Well, it depends on how you want to think it as, most of the time it is merely a word to tell who you are, and example is my name, for it is actually three different names being Katelyn Victoria Zilar, but people just call me Katelyn or Kate for short. Though names like mine have more special meanings if you went to look deeper into them, though other names like... I dunno, Buck or Link, they are simple names that are words, but I dunno, some things are like that I guess."
She said as she had rubbed the back of her neck a little bit, feeling a bit ashamed that she could not think of anything very detailed to tell the Na'vi, but the things about her people and the Natives on Pandora were still aching her head, already this was dangerous for her to be here with Txe'lan for she could be caught, and the humans would want her to spy while they studied on their work, which would be unaccpetable to her as well to Txe'lan.
"Umm... Txe? I know we may not know each other long enough to keep promises... but you think you can keep at least one for me?"
She said as she nervously twirled her hair a little bit, her face was a bit more stern despite it having a light smile on her face, it was just that Katelyn knew she was a bit out there compared to some of the humans, and she had to make sure with whatever sort of relation she had with at least one Na'vi she could try and spread it to others of his kind. It was only out of safety precautions, for she knew and had seen some of the incidents that had occurred the first time the humans came here, but they came because of greed at first, but now the second time was a bloody mistake.

Katelyn's explanation for names acting as words came as no surprise to Txe'lan. After all, an object had to have a name, or no one would know what to call a bow if it carried no name. A stringy piece of wood meant for death? Certainly names would simplify words to accommodate for a string of words used to describe something, thus Txe'lan didn't think too much of it. Names were just another part of words, but in an elite class all their own. Sometimes objects could carry more than one name, but that was simply from the misjudgment of one or more people from different places. At least that part made sense...
The topic of promises piqued Txe'lan a bit. As far as he knew the only promise he was keeping to Katelyn was their pact to teach each other the languages of their respective people, so what could possibly be on her mind as well? This made Txe'lan curious enough to inquire a bit before he could amount to keep a promise he could be prone to break, and he didn't want to disgrace himself that way. Katelyn was a special Sky Person, and a broken promise could easily break their already fragile relationship despite the fact that it was building. Even if they would not admit it outright, Txe'lan could feel a relationship building with Katelyn, and he was pretty sure she could feel it as well.
"What promise would... that be?"
Txe'lan knew he had to be careful when dealing with the Sky People, even one he trusted. The Na'vi have not had a pleasant history with the Sky People, and bad history often left scars that would be reluctant to heal. After all, he had to face facts when it came to the two different species. He was a Na'vi, and Katelyn was a Sky Person. If push came to shove, Txe'lan would have to side with his own people, but he would be very reluctant to see any harm come to Katelyn. She just didn't seem to have the heart to hurt the Na'vi, and she only seemed curious about their culture and the planet as a whole. Despite the fact that she was a warrior for the Sky People, every warrior had a heart, and with that heart came a conscience.
On his own time, Txe'lan used his pencil to retrace Katelyn's name on the paper, writing the letters he learned as well as the two he hadn't learned yet that made up Katelyn's name. He was finally beginning to grasp the language of the Sky People for himself, and that was a good feeling. Soon he'd be able to teach Katelyn the Na'vi language once he understood how to communicate it to her, unless he wanted to take a more drastic measure by bringing the Tree of Souls into it. It was possible, but it would be a very risky endeavor...

Katelyn just moved her mouth to the side a little bit as she began to scratched the back of her head a little bit as she was trying to think of how she was to tell this out to Txe'lan straight on, mostly because she didn't know how the Na'vi would react to her words. Of course she knew that the relation they had together was very thin indeed, and it only took one dead person from either of their species to wage a thoughtless war against one another for the vengeance of one soul, and she knew that would be just a gong show to try and figure out who would win the fight first. The Na'vi for sure had outnumbered the humans by a far greater number, but the humans had the technology to just shred the poor creatures in greater numbers before they could be defeated.
But this was getting Katelyn's thoughts off the main subject, she needed to tell him her promise quickly and efficiently so he could get the idea of where she was going at. So with a deep breath she took in with her arms loosely crossed as she looked up at Txe'lan with her lime-hazel eyes, she spoke out her promise.
"Just... don't trust the humans, or even the Avatars for that matter. And I know that you have heard it over and over again by your people and what not... But trust me, it's best if you hear it from someone who was from the race itself. We're vile, selfish, and most of all greedy. We kill ourselves for wealth or just pure pleasure, we steal from the needy ones so we could feed the powerful ones, and even going as far as killing our own unborn children for science... It's just... Savage..."
With all of the rage that was building up her body from all the thoughts of what her people have done and are still doing to themselves, which had began to make her hands contract, causing the sharp nails to drive down into her skin, and that began to make her bleed, but like she cared about that right now. It took a few good, deep breaths of oxygen to calm her nerves down a bit more, and had let her arms go as she reached out for her pencil and paper once more so she could write down more letters seeing that Txe'lan was already attempting to write down the letters on her name, and he had to keep his mind flowing, but like her little speech a few seconds ago wouldn't make his mind spin like a hurricane as it was. She said her words however, and that was all that was needed to be asked of their promise, though she knew that he was going to say that he was going to promise anyways.

Txe'lan knew tensions between his people and the Sky People were still pretty taught, but from the last survey of their numbers they didn't have nearly the strength of will or numbers to do any serious harm to the land, Eywa, or the Na'vi. If they were really how Katelyn had described them, then they seriously couldn't pull off what they had tried to do all those decades ago. Txe'lan had caught glimpses of the past from his many connections with the Tree of Souls, but ever since the Sky People were expelled, they wouldn't have returned with the sickness and insanity in their hearts unless it was by pure mistake which Txe'lan sincerely thought was the case.
But the promise itself caught Txe'lan in a strange predicament. If he was to promise not to trust the Sky People, then how could he trust Katelyn if she was one of them? That didn't make sense to him, and Txe'lan already knew Katelyn well enough through this one night alone as well as last night to know that she wasn't afflicted with the insanity that drove the Sky People three centuries ago. Even if she did have the training of a warrior, she had the heart of a singer albeit not the voice of one. Emotions ran through her like the purest of water in a river, not dammed up like some cold-hearted killer. Txe'lan decided to address this issue first-hand, putting down his pencil and paper so that he might explain in-person how he thought of the situation.
”Katelyn, you are not a... Sky Person you speak of; your people vary much in thought... and body, some may be that way, but the... insanity is only driven by... dark emotions and... purpose.”
Sure, the English was still broken, but at least he was making use of it to try and convey a meaning to Katelyn that was the reasoning of the Heart of Forgiveness. He didn't want to not trust the Sky People, seeing that they're purpose here was entirely misplaced just by how few they were (back then there were much, much more of them). The Omaticaya clan alone probably outnumbered them, but the even playing field was only provided for by the technology of the Sky People. Still, Eywa had a means to an end as far as dealing with their cold, dead machines.
”I trust you, but not... when you hold weapons. Your craft is... unique, yet you can... make yourselves like Na'vi. Eywa does not take sides; you or your people... are in no harm... as long as you don't carry weapons.”
Txe'lan was merely trying to make a point that Sky People could be trusted as long as they didn't carry anything more than was necessary to survive on Pandora. The only weapons they would need would be for survival, not the intent to kill what they did not understand. As long as the Sky People had their weapons of gross destruction, the Na'vi would not trust them; they revered all forms of life, even if the wild animals did have the intent to hunt them for food. It was simply not Eywa's desire to have the death and destruction of Sky People to be causing conflict with her planet's inhabitants.
Seeing red water flow from Katelyn's hand, Txe'lan reached out and took her wounded hand in his own, using his other hand to pull out a strip of moss cloth he typically used for bandages. Given its healing properties in its fresh state, it made an effective remedy for flesh wounds. With a quick wrap and tie-off, Txe'lan let her hand go, bandaged so that it would bleed no more.

Katelyn really could not believe in this guy at all, was there no way to get him to hate her kind well enough to keep him far away from others of her own species? He just seemed to never get her point on staying as far away as possible, and that he wasn't even enraged by what she had said about what her species do to themselves, was it something that he did not understand? Were her words still to complex for him to fully touch out to the Na'vi? For her it just caused her blood to boil like mad to know her race was just so disgusting to do such horrid things to each other, and some people just enjoyed to watch this crap and laugh at it, it was just a wretched thing to even think about.
However, it seemed that this person had so much in him to just look over their mistakes that they still continue to make on purpose, and then he had began to speak out once more about her and the Sky People, mostly it was about her not being like them and all, which of course was very sweet to her indeed, and she showed her gratitude by giving off a bit of a smile as she had gone from writing the letters, to actually doodling a few little things that came into her mind, since they were sort of off topic in the first place, and that there were just some things that got her imagination going and should be put down on paper for later.
She was stopped though, for it seemed Txe'lan had noticed the blood that had been on her fingertips, and lightly grabbed it for a moment, which she then dropped her pencil so it would not be in the way of what he was going to do. She watched him as he had wrapped what seemed to be a moss of some sort around her wounds to try and stop the bleeding as well infections if any. Taking back her hand when Txe'lan was done with it, she began to examine and touch the moss a little bit just by curiosity, and then let a chuckling sigh out.
"Heh, wow Txe'lan, it looks like you are just as cautious as well you are forgiving."
It was Txe'lan's decision to decide if that was a compliment or whatever, but it was quite true, and at least he had the heart to do such things for someone that was not even from their planet. But now it was to get back to work again, and so put down her doodles of her pets and some things on Pandora including a sketch of Txe'lan had been put in there for fun, and had written down the next letters for him to look at, and had given the paper to him, with a few more words for him to look at so he could try and get the use of trying to say things in english.
"Alright, now these are the letters; P, Q, R, S, and T."

Katelyn's words hadn't fallen on deaf ears; he knew very well the evil that rested in the Sky People's hearts, but there was a bit of evil in everyone, even the Na'vi. Txe'lan did not judge people on concepts, but rather for their actions if he ever judged anyone at all. Usually it was up to the Tsahik and the Clan Leader to pass judgment upon Sky People as well as the Na'vi. It wasn't Txe'lan's place to be thinking ill thoughts of the Sky People when they haven't done anything grossly wrong upon their second venture to Pandora. As long as their machines were kept in their proper place (which was inside their little fortress), Txe'lan would more or less welcome the planet's new inhabitants. Did this make him an ambassador of some kind? Perhaps not, but it sure was a fun concept to think about...
When Katelyn made her reaction to Txe'lan's bandaging efforts, Txe'lan smiled a bit in return. His job as a healer for the clan was a noble one, but sometimes it was lackluster for when no one brought home any injuries for Txe'lan to tend to. Usually hunting expeditions brought out the most injuries for adult Na'vi but warrior training brought in the most complex injuries. A wound as simple as Katelyn's hand grip puncture was an easy fix with a moss bandage, but then he got to thinking about the color of her blood. Na'vi bled the same color, and that he wanted to demonstrate. Taking out his hunter's knife and removing one of his armbands, Txe'lan made a small cut where his armband covered, showing Katelyn the edge of his blade to indicate the color of his blood. They really weren't too different.
"We bleed... the same; we aren't very different."
Without risking any further problems with a cut of his own, Txe'lan took another small patch of moss bandage and placed it over his own cut, keeping it secure by putting his armband back over the moss bandage. He also wiped off his blade, putting it back in the sheath of which he took it out. He then went back to the letters Katelyn was writing down. P, Q, R, S, and T, one being the letter Txe'lan was unfamiliar with in Katelyn's name. Then he started to put together the letters he already learned into various words he'd heard Katelyn speak like 'one' 'really' 'bad' 'night' 'ahead'.
However, he didn't quite understand what the letter 'Q' was used for. It seemed like a very odd letter, like it wasn't used much for anything, like a rock stuck in the ground.
"This 'Q' letter... is it used much? It feels odd."

When she saw the smile that was brought upon Txe'lans' face from her compliment, Katelyn began to give off a light smile back to him as she had been handing over the piece of paper, it was always nice to see someone happy because of your compliments, especially if it was to someone that you knew could just end your life quickly, or slowly... Whichever they preferred to do to her. Though when she saw him taking out what was obviously a knife, she took this as being hostile, and began to back off a little with her hand near her swiss army knife, just a precaution just in case if Txe'lan was indeed going hostile on her. She didn't believe that he was going to be, they were quite fine with one another with last night, and this night seemed to be going quite well until this Na'vi brought out his knife. But there was no reason to bring it out in the least, maybe it was to perform something different besides trying to kill her? She honestly did not know in the least.
Suddenly she began to realize what Txe'lan was going to do when he saw him take off his armband, she was going to reach out for him in order to stop what he was about to do, but that would have been in vain for he had always cut part of his flesh open. So she just sat herself properly once more since she realized that he wasn't going hostile on her, though it still bugged her badly that he was cutting open his on skin which could be shown with the light disgust on her face. Looking back at the blade once more, the Na'vi began to talk about how their blood had the same color, and that they weren't very different to one another. It did make logical sense that most mammal species did bleed the same crimson-colored blood, even if they come from other planets, but she wasn't going to be one throwing facts around to Txe'lan, not when he was already having enough to know in his mind.
Especially when it came to understanding the letters, one that included the letter 'Q' when he asked about how much it had been used, and Katelyn just rolled her shoulders awkwardly a bit as she made an unsure humming sound for a brief moment before she could find an answer for it.
"Uh... Not very much really... It's just there sometimes to complete words, but it isn't there for too many words. Like 'Queen' or 'Quiet. But not much else really.'"
She said lightly as she began to ponder a little bit about the letter, not much was really needed of the word, and when it was used, it usually meant for more important things from what she understood. Though not much other use besides that... It's was funny when situations like that made you think of stuff like that.
